It's day 299 of the year and main project. That means, we are on Day 26 of the 31 Days of Hallowe'en challenge and the #31DayHorrorChallenge being hosted by Nightmare on Film Street.
As usual, I'm going to start with my own 31 Days of Hallowe'en challenge. Today's theme is Vampire Western. I picked From Dusk Till Dawn.

When bank robbing brothers find themselves on the run, they decide to kidnap a family just so they can be smuggled across the boarder into Mexico, by using their van. Once there, the arrive at the bar they are supposed to be meeting their business partner at. But before that can happen, they have to survive a bar full of vampires.
One of the best vampire movies hands down. Half crime movie, half action, and the vampire content is high stakes gore. One thing I've always loved about this movie, is when the genre switch happens, so does the second lead actor. We go from Quentin Tarantino being the second lead in the first half of the story, to Juliette Lewis being the second lead in the second half. It gives an interesting twist on both the genres.
And the 31 Days of Horror Challenge prompt is Pumpkin on the Poster. I picked Halloween.
When three babysitters are targeted on Hallowe'en night by a silent stalker, only one will survive the night.
Cult classic. A simple idea that works on so many levels, and what's become the baseline for most slasher films, and the unwritten rules of horror.
