2025 Did the Movie Make Me Do It? part 17

It's Day 92 of the year and the project. If you're new here, I've been doing a One Movie a Day challenge, and have been working with the theory that the first movie you watch on January 1st will influence your calendar year. I picked the movie Elvira Mistress of the Dark, as my first movie watched this year and saw a lot of parallels in the first part of the year.

Not so much in the last few months. It seemed like it was all at once and now, quiet. Almost too quite.

However, with that said, just the other day I got a message on this one dating app I'm on, from some random guy asking about a photo of me with a deck of tarot cards. He did not introduce himself, just sent a message saying "U can read my cards?" I replied if he was serious sure. His response "U real read cards? Can U read mine tell mw what you c?"

I responded that I only do readings in person and that I charge - cash only, for readings, and that if he was actually serious I could meet up for coffee. He instantly ghosted me and deleted the message. That tells me a few things. One : that he either didn't want to actually pay and just wanted a free reading or that he didn't live in town like he said he did and had just gotten caught, or you know both. And Two: he couldn't spell worth a crap. But all this made me think of the scene in Elvira Mistress of the Dark, where her new boss insults her trying to get a freebie out of things.

Is it so wrong to want a guy who has the same communication style as myself?

Anyways, that brings me to the round up of movies I saw this last month that I enjoyed. That would be hands down, Ouija House which I watched a few days ago on day 90. You can follow along with my daily movie list on my Letterboxd (here)
