2024 Hallowe'en Movie Challenge Day 18

It's Day 292 of the year and project. That makes it' Day 18 of the 31 Days of Hallowe'en challenges. As always I'm starting with my own 31 Days of Hallowe'en, which I talked about back in August. Today's mini theme is Mutant Sea Creature, and I picked Sharkula.

Over a hundred years ago, Dracula was chased over the edge of a cliff, and as he hits the water below, he becomes bitten by a shark. Now, the shark has all his powers and he is it's slave.

So the poster is the best thing about this movie. I was expecting something more along the lines in production values as Sharkupuss or Behmoth, but this was...painful to sit through. In the worst way. This felt like a college student film, in the worst way possible. I have to give it credit for being original. Dude, nothing could save this movie, but they would have improved it if they had at least used some stock footage of sharks.

And the 31 Days of Horror challenge being hosted by Nightmare on Film Street. Their mini theme today is Barbara Crampton, I picked The Sisterhood.

When a young girl with psychic abilities is recruited by her professor to help stop a coven of vampires, she finds herself vulnerable to the leaders' charms.

This is pretty much a paint by numbers by David Decoteau. The first time I saw this storyline was in his movie The Brotherhood from 2000, and it's become a staple plot in almost all his stories. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a spin-off of The Brotherhood franchise or a part of it or just a stand alone film.

Don't forget to follow along on my daily Letterboxd lists, as I am doing a few movie challenges this year, including the #100HorrorMoviesIn92Days challenge.

Come back tomorrow and see what's on the slab.
