Happy Canada Day!
Today is Day 183 of the One Movie a Day project I am doing this year, and therefore of this part of the project. This series started just before the new year, and I laid out the whole purpose for it in the first two installments.
Okay jumping right in, while I was at the local dollar store, this dude walked in and started staring at me. That never happens. He walked around the store and ended up in line ahead of me, but he kept turning to look at me. Dead in the eyes looking. I'm not too sure what to make of it? Other than I thought the guy was cute. He's not even my usual type, too tall, too bulky, but damned if he didn't have eyes you could fall into.
So I'm feeling a bit deflated actually. Here we are halfway through the year, and I haven't really seen anything that I would truly say mirrors the movie I picked for the project. I can say with all certainty that I seem to be...shall we say stuck within the first 15 minutes of the plot if we were to compare my year so far to the selected movie. That movie of course being Rob Zombie's The Munsters.
Other than this project, I set a bunch of little goals for myself for the year. Well I should say a bunch of goals cause not all are little ones. One of them was to create a magazine. A physical magazine you could hold in your hand. One thing I needed for this was a new printer because mine was over fifteen years old. I lucked out with the fact there were all these Canada Day sales this weekend and was able to get a new printer with the whole copier and scanner combo. It was suppose to be able to do over a 1000 pages before you needed to replace the ink. I didn't even get 80 pages before all these lights started to flash telling me I was almost out of ink. For real. Not one full day of using it and looks like I'm going to have to get ink already. How is that possible?
And as for the One Movie a Day for the Year part...the best thing I watched this last month since my last check in was the 2005 remake of King Kong and the French Canadian movie Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person.
I will be back in early August with part 9 of the series.
