June 2nd 2024, and we are 154 days into both the year and my project. I've talked about the project and it's reasoning in past parts of the series; but a quick recap is this...I'm once again doing a One Movie A Day challenge and on top of that, I decided to experiment with the theory that whatever the first movie of the calendar year is that you watch, will in some way influence that year.
And the first movie I picked for 2024 was Rob Zombie's The Munsters. Every month during 2024 I'm coming in here and giving a short update in comparison to the main plot of the film to see the results.
I don't have much to say...this was a month of small issues happening. I had a small health issue, there were tons and I mean tons of computer/technical things this month that took my attention. The plus side this month, was that I saw online that a few stores have started to release their Hallowe'en collections early. As in they released them for Halfway to Hallowe'en. My city has yet to receive anything, but then again, my city is usually one of the last places in Canada to get their Hallowe'en stock. And to be honest, I'm not even sure if the Canadian versions of those stores have gotten any of the Hallowe'en lines early.
And now to talk about the stuff that could be inline with the main plot of the movie The Munsters, this guy randomly messaged me on my social media the other day. Just out of the blue, I got a message from some dude I've never heard of before. The little intro to the message only said he was a friend of a friend. So, I quickly messaged the mutual friend to ask what he knew about it? He said nothing, but that the guy was harmless. We -my friend and I- spent a half hour messaging back and forth trying to figure out why this other guy messaged me in the first place and how did he even know I existed? Of course, the only way to find out was to reply to the guy. So I did, and he right away said he thought I was someone else. Harsh. But, my friend and I agreed that the only way this guy could have spotted me was if he had been searching through our mutual friend's list of friends/followers on that social media outlet. We both wondered how many other of my friend's female friends got a random message from this other guy? And you're asking how does this tie into the main plot of the movie of the year? Well, there is that scene where Floop mixes up the brains, and this guy in the end said he mistook me for someone else. Again, harsh. It also in a way makes me think of the line in the scene where Lily is on the bad date with Orlock and he can't remember her name because he's out every night with a different woman.
And a final note, the best things I've watched since last time I checked in was the Living With Chucky documentary, Yentl and The Bookshop.
I'll be back in early July with part 8.
