It's Day 314 of the year and this project. I talked about the whole idea behind this back in parts 1 and 2 of this series. But the quick of it is, many movie fans believe that the first movie of the year you watch somehow predicts that calendar year. I watched Rob Zombie's The Munsters on January 1st of 2024, and I've been comparing my real life to the plot of the movie all year.
This past month since the check in, has been a world wind because of Hallowe'en. We're a full two weeks into November and just when I thought things would start to slow down for the next while, it hasn't. I'm not in the mood to get into details cause it will make me mad, so lets just say, my stress levels are high.
Does that fit with anything in the movie's plot? I don't really think so? It's got to do with stuff happening in my neighbourhood...so maybe you could connect it to the part of the story when The Munsters go to Mockingbird Lane, but it would be a stretch.
Back to the main plot of the movie, Lily and Herman's romance. Nothing on that front. Seriously, I honestly thought the dating site would have worked some for me this year, but I haven't had a single date from it. And the amount of time I've been out for events this year, I can't believe I have not met anyone.
Okay, so let's just skip to the part where I tell you what movies I loved this month. That would be Trick or Treat from 1986. This movie along with The Lost Boys, influenced me the most as a teenager back in the 80's. It's been years since I've had a chance to watch Trick or Treat, and I was beyond lucky enough to snag one of the limited edition box sets that was released this month. I plan on doing a full article on it after my week straightens itself out. Seriously, if you were to smoosh Trick or Treat and The Lost Boys together, I was like and to some extent still am, a mix of the characters of Ragman from Trick or Treat and Starr from The Lost Boys.
I'll be back at the end of December with the final update of this series for 2024. I can't believe the year is nearly done. It seemed to fly past.
