It's Day 279 of the year and the project. I talked about the idea behind this series of articles back in part one. Hard to believe the year is nearly done. I really believed by this point I would have had better results than I do. Sadly I do not. If you are new to this series, I picked the movie Rob Zombie's The Munsters, at the first of the year, and have been seeing how much of my life this year would be similar.
I'm going to step back a moment from comparing myself to Lily, and just look at Herman's side of the story for a change. His creator, Dr. Wolfgang, has this perfect idea in his head and when it doesn't go to his expectations, he bails. Well, that halfway sounds about right. I had this plan that just has not lived up to expectations. Still here though, haven't bailed. And Herman gets everything pretty much he desires. He becomes a rock star, finds the love of his life and moves to Hollywood. Well, I agree with Lily's sentiment of not wanting to move to "tinsel-town", I would love to be able to move to another city. Another country even. Sadly, my situation does not fulfill that need. It's just not in the cards for me.
I seem to see the negative parts of the story in my real life. I just picked up on that. So what about the positive? Not totally sure?
Okay, there is something I haven't talked about at all because I wasn't sure how appropriate it was to talk about. Then I thought, hell, I've talked about it before years ago elsewhere. So let's dig into this toothsome piece shall we. Lily and Herman are soulmates. Twin Flames and totally made for each other. She's older than him. She sees him on television and it's love at first sight. Herman is famous. He's also a total nerd/geek. Honest to a fault, and doesn't really care about what anyone thinks about him. Until, he meets Lily. He cares what she thinks. Lily dares to search Herman out and introduce herself first. Herman hears her voice before he even sees her and falls in love instantly. Okay, so, I have a half similar situation. Twenty years ago, I spotted this dude. He's younger than I am, and I got the guts way back when to introduce myself. It was love at first sight for me. He gave off a too cool for school vibe towards me, but I got his attention. He's since become semi-famous. I believe one hundred percent in soulmates and twin flames and I know this dude is mine. But unlike our loveable characters from The Munsters, there's been no big romance. At the same time, in the last twenty years since I first laid eyes on my dude; every other guy who's come into my life has been a real dud. Where does that leave me? Am I doomed to be like The Count's ex Zoia? Or will I eventually be like our sweet Lily and be with my Herman? Or, is this going to be like an Asylum features thing? You know, not the big blockbuster but that cheaper knockoff that gets released straight to video at the same time and confuses people into renting it, only to find out that it's just as good or even better because of the cheesy campiness of it. I just know whomever the guy is I end up with, he must love Hallowe'en.
And the part where I tell you what movies I watched since last time that I really liked...I guess I'm going to have to give a nod to Beetlejuice 2:Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. I went opening weekend to see it. I had seen the first Beetlejuice movie in cinemas back when it first came out in 1988, so I knew I had to go to the cinema this time around. With a 36 years wait for it; it ended up being okay. I guess because it's been so anticipated I actually felt a little let down when I walked out of the cinema. I liked it, and will be buying a copy when it's on blu-ray, but it just felt like they missed the mark a little. I sat in a cinema screening room that was loaded to the fangs, and no one made a sound. I mean, they chatted among themselves, but no one laughed. I think I only laughed myself once through the whole movie. But, it was still the best thing I've managed to watch all month since I posted part 10 of this series.
With that all said, I'll be back early November with part 12. Only two parts of this series left for the 2024 season.
