31 Days of Hallowe'en Challenge: Day 23

It's Day 296 of the year and main project. That means we are on Day 23 of the 31 Days of Hallowe'en Challenge and the #31DayHorrorChallenge being hosted by Nightmare on Film Street.

As always, I'm starting with my own 31 Days of Hallowe'en Challenge and the theme today is Nightmare on Elm Street Franchise. I picked NOES 6 Freddy's Dead the Final Nightmare.

Freddy is haunting the dreams of the final teenager to grow up in Springwood. As John tries to get away, Freddy figures out a way to use this to his advantage. John doesn't get far before he forgets who he is or why he's running away. He ends up in a shelter and his therapist convinces him to go back to Springwood to try to recover his memories. Along the way, she herself learns she's adopted and that she too was a child of Elm Street.

This was actually a good story to "end" the franchise on. It gives a bit more background into why Freddy did what he did. I love the mythology that they added with the dream demons.

The prompt today for the 31 Day Horror Challenge from Nightmare on Film Street is Mad Science. I picked The Evil of Frankenstein.

When Dr. Frankenstein and his assistant decide to return to the doctor's homeland, of which he's been banished, they find the remains of the creature. Setting to work on bringing him back to life, they find themselves dealing with a conman.

I have to say, I think the idea of the story is there. But, I just did not care for the side story of the conman who is the villain in this. Short and sweet, I just didn't care for this one all that much.
