The Shining. A classic story of madness through isolation, as you bare witness to Jack and his family as they dodge ghosts both real and imagined.
Ginger Snaps 3 Ginger Snaps Back. Much like the first choice on the list, this film dives into it's creep factor by locking our characters into an isolated area during the harsh Canadian winter with plenty of monsters to run from. The third film of the werewolf trilogy tackles the idea that we can not out run our past. Cast members from both previous films return as different characters, as this is set in the 1800's.
Witchboard. A young woman finds an old ouija board in her new house and begins to use it, opening a portal. With the help of her new husband, her ex-boyfriend, and a psychic, they discover the tragic history of their new house, but will it be enough to stop it?

Ninth Gate. Johnny Depp plays a book seller with low morals, as he's hired to authenticate an extremely rare book said to have been written by the devil. His journey takes him across Europe, as he follows a trail of death connected to the book.
Waxworks (1988) A group of friends decide to spend a night in a wax museum only to find themselves part of the exhibit.
Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) Dracula seduces and slaughters his way across Europe. One of the best retelling of the classic story and one of the most faithful to the original novel.
From Hell. A gory crime story following the detective who worked the Jack the Ripper case in the late 1800s.
Parents. A young boy learns that he comes from a suburban nightmare when it's revealed his family are actually cannibals.
The Stuff. When a large food corporation discovers a naturally occurring substance suddenly popping up in the ground, they market it to the world as the next food craze. Only question is, are you eating it or is it eating you? A fresh take on the zombie/vampire genre.
Gothic. A bio-horror story retelling the weekend Mary Shelley wrote her classic Frankenstein.
Fright Night. This modern meets golden age of vampire stories, follows Charlie Brewster and his friends as they try to prove a vampire moved in next door. With the help of a late night horror host Peter Vincent, the group need to figure out how to survive the night.
Nightmare on Elm Street 2 Freddy's Revenge. The second installment of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Often overlooked, or dismissed for recreating the original story from a male perspective, the psychological elements in this film give a deeper undertone to the gore.
