10 More Vampire Movies to Check Out this October Season

In my last article, I mentioned some of the more mainstream vampire movies that most people have already heard of. This time, I'm digging a little deeper into the vaults and offering up a few titles that you might not have thought of or even heard of.

Blood and Donuts. This 1995 Canadian classic follows Boya, a centuries old vampire who's been waken from a decade long nap, and his two new friends as they dodge a mobster in the heart of Toronto.

The Breed. This 2001 steam-punk/ film noir tells the story of a human FBI agent and vampire cop as they expose a government cover-up, while trying to help a group of vampires flee a corrupt city.

Daybreakers. This 2010 film follows scientist Dalton as he tries to find a blood substitute before it's too late and the last remaining humans die out.

Fright Night 2 The New Blood. In 2013 we were given a movie that is technically a remake of a remake and of a sequel. In FN2TNB, we follow an alternate reality version of vampire Gerri Dandridge as she stalks and hunts Charley, Amy and Evil Ed in the heart of Romania, while avoiding vampire hunter Peter Vincent. This is the fourth movie in the franchise and the second one to have a female vampire as the lead; as it mixes elements from the original 1985 version with it's 1989 sequel and the 2011 remake.

The Forsaken. In this 2001 road trip vampire movie, we're introduced to a half turned group of characters who are hunting down their sire in order to free themselves from the bond his has with them. This movie has an interesting take on blood borne diseases, as it's main character is able to hold off the turning with medications.

Immortality the Wisdom of Crocodiles. Jude Law plays the main character in this 1998 British vampire film. After his girlfriend is murdered, Steven is the prime suspect in the investigation. While trying to prove he's not the killer the police believe him to be, he has already moved on to his newest conquest. This vampire thriller draws the lines in the sand between doubt and reality.

Stay Alive. This 2006 film follows a group of gamers as they try to stay one step ahead of a serial killer. They soon discover the very game they are addicted to has ties to the real life Countess Bathroy.

Red Blooded American Girl. This 1989/1990 Canadian film starring Christopher Plummer and Kim Coates is one of the better vampire films to mix the fear of blood borne diseases and vampirism as we follow a scientist trying to save his girlfriend from a powerful corrupt businessman who turns out to be a vampire.

Midnight Son. This 2011 offering follows a young man as he discovers that his medical condition of Porphyria begins to mutate into full vampirism.

The Order aka The Sin Eater. This 2003 Heath Ledger film follows a young priest as he uncovers a series of mysterious deaths within the priesthood. He soon finds himself at the cusp of a battle between what he's been taught about exorcisms and the one immortal who can disprove it all.
