One of my favourite movies to have come out in the last few years is the 2023 vampire movie Renfield. I've already talked about it a couple of times on this site, and now I've got a quick recipe inspired by it. You do not see a ton of food in this movie, and what you do see or that is mentioned, is all over the place.
Muffins, coffee, garlic, wine, apples, celery, juice, pop, grapes, burgers, sandwiches, ketchup, browines, pasta, Cajun food, salt, pepper, bread, pies, lettuce, waffles, cucumber, limes, tea, cookies, milk, sugar, cappuccino, hot dog stand, alcohol, donuts.
There is this really great scene with a single one-liner where Renfield is talking to officer Quincy and offers her cookies and tea. She looks at the plate and then says "I don't want your murder cookies" as she has just found out who Renfield actually is. So of course I couldn't help myself, I had to make "Renfield's Murder Cookies"
Ingredients
1 cup butter softened
1 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
vanilla
1 egg
1 and 1/2 cup flour
butterscotch chips
half of a Coffee Crisp chocolate bar crushed (if you are in Canada. Otherwise any crunchy chocolate bar will do)
Cream butter and sugar together. Add salt and egg. Mix.
Add vanilla and flour. Mix till combined. Then add your butterscotch chips and crushed up chocolate bar. Mix well.
Form into balls and bake at 350degrees for 12-15 minutes depending on your oven.
